Style: French Box-Stitch upholstery style on seat
and back. Fully
upholstered out-back.
Controls: All controls are conveniently placed and
within easy reach of the
seated occupant. Levers and large knobs operable by
handicapped persons
shall be utilized where applicable.
Seat angle, seat height, back angle, and back height are
infinitely variable
over the range of adjustment. All connecting points are
metal-to-metal for
durability.
Height Adjustment: Separate single lever actuated
pneumatic system with lift
range of 17" to 21.5". Optional ranges from 16" to 34".
Cylinder size is a 50mm diameter for adequate strength.
Base and Casters: Base is a resin 27" five-prong
spider with adequate
diameter to minimize the risk of upset. All five casters
will remain on the floor
when intended chair occupant sits down and/or leans back in
the chair. All
parts of the base are of adequate strength to support the
occupant without
undue flex or breakage.
Standard Casters are 55 mm hooded twin wheel, hard
plastic, which roll and
swivel easily for use on carpet. Softer tread, twin wheel
casters for hard
flooring and glides are also available .
Seat Pan Structure: ¾- inch thick,
cross-grain hardwood, laminated
compound curve plywood Seat Structure, attached to mechanism
with bolts
into long barrel T-Nuts. Minimum 2.5 PCF density
polyurethane cushion uses
a proprietary four-stage process of resilient and dual
density foam to create a
flat seat across the width. Front edge of pan or platform
bends downward
with one or less inches of unsupported foam to give a
definite "waterfall"
front edge.
Size: Depth 21", Width 21", 4" thick high
resilient polymeric and dual density
urethane foam. Optional seat slider mechanisms allow for
appropriate seat pan
depth.
Seat Pan Angle: Separate single lever actuated to
8° anteriorly or forward and
at least 2° posteriorly or rearward sloping.
Multi-Function and Knee-Tilt
Controls rock back at least 10°. Seat can be locked at
any desired angle within
the adjustment range.
Backrest Structure: 1/2 inch thick, cross-grain
hardwood, laminated
compound curve plywood attached to steel back bar with bolts
into long
barrelT-Nuts. Minimum 2.5 PCF density polyurethane foam.
Vertically convex
lumbar support with no horizontally concave surfaces (flat
across the width)
to maintain the back's natural S-curve.
Size: Width 17.5", Height 20", 2.5" thickness of
high resilient polymeric
urethane foam.
Backrest angle and height adjustment: Separate
single lever actuates to at
least 90° forward and 105° rearward angle. Knob
adjusts 3" of backrest height
for proper lumbar support. Optional lumbar adjustment ranges
available.
Optional Armrests: Durable black urethane padded
armrests have a soft
textured surface. Steel structural support attaches to chair
seat pan.
Adaptations for horizontal adjustment also available.
